Alaska State Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Below you鈥檒l find information needed to apply for state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) after completion of the Master of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN/FNP) program. Graduates of the MSN/FNP are eligible to apply for the state Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure.

Licensure:
Must hold a current, active registered nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of Alaska.

Education:
Satisfactory completion of a formal accredited graduate educational course of study preparing in one of the APRN roles including a nurse practitioner.

National Certification:
Candidates must hold a current certification granted by a national certification body recognized by the Alaska Board of Nursing. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners/Family Nurse Practitioner and the American Nurses Credentialing Center/Family Nurse Practitioner certification programs are recognized by the Board and candidates may obtain certification through one of these organizations. Arizona State Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Graduates of the MSN/FNP are eligible to apply for the state Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification. The MSN/FNP program is approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing ().

California State Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Colorado State Requirements for Inclusion on the Advanced Practice Registry (APR)

A nurse who is included in the APR has the right to use the title Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or, if authorized by the Board, to use the title Nurse Practitioner (NP).听Graduates of the MSN/FNP meet requirements for inclusion on the APR.

Indiana State Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Indiana does not provide for a separate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or application without prescribing privileges. The 鈥淎PRN鈥 license in Indiana is only for the additional authority to prescribe as an APRN.听 The 七色视频 Master of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN/FNP) program provides the education necessary to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the applicant鈥檚 Indiana or out-of-state compact registered nursing (RN) license.

Applicants who wish to obtain prescriptive authority should contact the Indiana Board of Nursing for information on the requirements and process for obtaining that authority.

Licensure:
Must hold a current, active registered nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of Indiana or in a compact party state with multistate privileges.

Education:
Completion of a graduate program offered by a college or university accredited by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation (COPR) which prepares the registered nurse to practice as a nurse practitioner.
