Important Ceremony Day Information
Everyone is invited to celebrate our graduates at the Virtual Commencement, which is streamed on YouTube. You鈥檒l receive information about how to join your Virtual Commencement prior to the ceremony, which you can then share with your family and friends.
If you鈥檇 like to access the comment feature during the ceremony, you鈥檒l need a YouTube account.聽See links above for watching the ceremony.
- Commencement聽videos and personal name slide聽will be available for viewing聽up to 30 days after聽the ceremony.
- The personalized slides will be displayed during鈥痙egree鈥痩evel鈥痗onferral鈥痜or each ceremony.
- Graduates聽will be shown聽alphabetically (by last name)鈥痜rom lowest to highest degree level (associate, bachelor, etc.)鈥.
- Watch the聽countdown聽timer on the聽commencement ceremony video聽to see what degree level name slides are next聽to help gauge when you鈥檒l be featured.
- You won't be shown live during the ceremony but your personalized slide will be.
How to participate
1. Register online
REGISTRATION CLOSES Feb. 28
- . Once logged in, you鈥檒l be taken directly to the registration site.
- Next, confirm your eligibility to participate in a ceremony.
- Select the preferred virtual commencement ceremony time.
- 鈥10:30 am AZ/PDT (7:30 am HST, 11:30 am MDT, 12:30 pm CDT, 1:30 pm EDT)
- 2 pm AZ/PDT (11:00 am HST, 3:00 pm MDT, 4:00 pm CDT, 5:00 pm EDT)
- Complete registration. (After you successfully register, you鈥檒l receive a confirmation email.)
- Late registrations cannot be accommodated due to the production schedule for this ceremony.
- Friends and family are not required to register. Just you!
2. Personalize your name slide
Please note, all graduates will have a slide with their name and degree announced during the commencement.
Submit one picture and one message, or favorite quote,聽to be featured on your personalized name slide, which will be displayed when your name is read. Also, you can share how you want your name pronounced.
If you鈥檙e not planning to wear regalia, be sure to dress professionally to look your best for your photo.
Be on the lookout for an email from聽uopxcommencement@phoenix.edu聽with details on how to submit your photo, messages, and pronunciation preferences safely through a site called Marching Order. This email will be sent out within one week after you register for the ceremony.
Please note:聽The email containing details will be sent to the email address you used for commencement registration.聽Make sure to check all your folders, including spam and junk, so you don鈥檛 miss it!
If you are not able to provide a photo and/or message鈥痓y the deadline date, please know there will still be a slide with your name,鈥痙egree鈥痑nd name announcement for the ceremony.鈥痀our name recording and phonetic spelling must match the name shown for your slide.鈥
- Deadline to record your name and provide phonetic spelling: 3/12/25
- Deadline to submit one photo and one quote/message: 3/26/25
We are not able to add or change anything on the personalized slides after these鈥痙eadline dates.鈥

3. Share content for the celebration video
(Optional, this聽is separate from your personalized name slide. Please be sure to upload your photo for the ceremony slide before this submission.)
Deadline: 3/26/25
We encourage graduates to submit photos and/or videos of their own celebratory moments for a chance to be part of our graduate video!
These submissions can include graduation parties, pictures with family, impromptu dancing or celebration, walking across a makeshift stage, hat and gown portraits, throwing hats in the air, tassel moves, etc. Landscape/horizontal orientation is preferred if possible. Please avoid sending content that includes added graphics, captions, or video transitions.
Send your photos and/or聽video to聽uopxcommencement@phoenix.edu聽make sure to include your full name and degree information in the email. 聽Only 70 to 100 photos will be chosen for this video from all the submissions.

How to order regalia (optional)
Although regalia is not required, if you want to order a set for pictures or memorabilia, you can do so through聽聽(select 鈥渧irtual鈥 from the dropdown menu).聽Military graduates can also order a military cord.
If you want to have regalia in time for your personalized slide photo, you must order by these dates:
- Deadline for standard shipping: Closes March 7, 2025 at 11:59 pm EDT
- Deadline for expedited 2-day shipping: Closes March聽12, 2025 at 11:59 pm EDT
- Deadline for Doctoral graduate custom regalia: February 5, 2025 at 11:59 pm EDT

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you are welcome to participate in both.
It鈥檚 easy. When they become available, send them the direct commencement link to the virtual commencement you registered for prior to the ceremony. Commencements will be available for viewing up to 30 days after the ceremony.
No. Graduates will not be on camera and therefore no camera is required. However, everyone is encouraged to post celebratory comments in the chat window throughout the ceremony, which is viewable to all.
Regalia is not required, but some students might want to order a set for pictures or memorabilia. If so, you can do so聽.聽Military graduates can also order a military cord. If you want to have regalia in time for your personalized slide photo, you must order by these dates.
